& Other Stories SS18 edit

I’m finally starting to feel myself emerge from the hellhole of winter (I felt the blues so badly this year!) into the first flush of spring. Last week I stopped wearing thermals under my jeans, I’ve been spritzing on the colognes (I’m back on the Hermes Eau de Pamplemousse Rose) and the stripy tees have come out of storage. And this week I’ve noticed so many good, energising things on the new-in pages.

& Other Stories is brilliant at the moment – I tried on these red cat-eye sunglasses in store at the weekend and I didn’t want to take them off. (more…)

Mother’s pride – my gift guide

Tal Angel silk scarves

It’s all about the women this week, with International Women’s Day tomorrow and Mother’s Day this Sunday. Despite my inner cynic, I still love Mother’s Day – it’s a good excuse to properly spoil our mums and there’s no shortage of great gift options around at the moment.

First impressions: the Les 9 Ombres eye palette in Affresco (below, limited edition) is a real highlight (more…)

First look at Westman Atelier, the Gucci Westman beauty line

Gucci Westman by Lexie Moreland for WWD

If you’ve been wondering what Gucci Westman has been up to since leaving her Revlon artistic director post a few years ago, I have news. Her own-name beauty line, Westman Atelier is about to launch, has just launched, a complexion-first no-make-up-make-up brand that’s been years in the making. (UPDATE: You can buy it at Barneys here).

I have such a beauty crush on Gucci! Her minimalist 90s ‘real skin’ aesthetic has never really gone out of fashion for me, despite the craze for over-emphasised Instagram make-up. (more…)
