Gentlewoman style: The chain necklace

One of my personal ‘style signifiers’ is a short gold chain necklace. It’s a delicate slither of a thing with dainty handcuffs as a clasp and it gets a big mention in my book, The New Garconne: How to be a Modern Gentlewoman (*cough* perfect mothers day gift idea *cough*).

Cartier is reviving its Panthère watch, last seen adorning a Joseph-sleeved wrist in the 1990s. Interesting because it appears sales of traditional watches are enjoying a slight upswing in popularity. (Well, at least they’ve stopped tanking – no pun intended.) (more…)

Call me old fashioned but I do love it when Chanel reverts to basics. Tuesday’s Chanel Paris Cosmopolite Métiers d’art collection 2016/17 was held at the reopened Ritz in Place Vendome (Coco Chanel famously had her apartment here) and was themed around the luxury of 1930s hotels. (more…)
