THE DRG STYLE INDEX: Kodak, Tom Ford, Sephora, Sophie Bille Brahe

Here’s the latest weekly DRG STYLE INDEX ranking, a round-up of the brands currently buzzing on my radar…

1. THE KODAK COMEBACK
Kodak Opening Ceremony
Looks like Kodak is enjoying a comeback thank to the rise of analogue photography. Wishing I’d bought one of those Opening Ceremony tees now…

2. WOULD YOU BUY A TOM FORD WATCH?

Tom Ford watches
The news is confirmed that Tom Ford is branching into watches. Makes sense, no? He’ll be partnering with Bedrock Manufacturing Co, a company founded by Tom Kartsotis (who also started Fossil and Shinola). While Bedrock usually focuses on American manufacturing, Tom Ford’s watches will be Swiss made. And although some might consider watches passé, they’re still objects of desire for Ford’s 40+ clientele. I’m picturing a suave take on a 70s Rolex rather than anything like this Apple pocket watch. WWD suggests they will clock in at the $1,500-$2,500 mark…

3. SWEET LIKE SEPHORA

Sad news, Sephora isn’t coming to the UK after all. Which means if you want this tinted lip balm that thinks it’s a push pop, you’ll have to get it shipped from France or the States. Merde.

4. SOMETHING ABOUT SOPHIE

Sophie Bille Brahe AW17
Stuff I discovered on Insta: fine jewellery by Sophie Bille Brahe. Very cool, teeny slithers of jewellery with a laid back, unprecious aesthetic. Here’s her ‘banana perle’ earring… Buy Sophie Bille Brahe at Net-a-Porter, Stylebop and Style.com.
