Ami Paris is going large on womenswear. For SS20, the French menswear brand just showed a full women’s collection as part of a co-ed runway show in Milan and according to BoF, womenswear actually informed the men’s design for the season too.

Ami Paris has featured womenswear in its collections for a while, but mostly as scaled-down carbon copies of the men’s pieces. While there are some strong looks in the new SS20 collection (like this one), I think I prefer the simplicity of Ami’s classic garconne look. (more…)



Thakoon Panichgul launches HommeGirls



Homme Girls Thakoon

Loving the sound of HommeGirls – Thakoon Panichgul’s multimedia celebration of gentlewoman style. It launches this week with an Instagram account, website and print zine, with plans to monetise later with affiliate links to brands. Also later will come ‘limited runs of repurposed men’s blazers, as well as collaborations with established brands’, according to Vogue. Contributors to the zine include photographers Cass Bird and Vanina Sorrenti, which gets two thumbs up from me. (more…)

I’m on the lookout for a new lightweight red sweater and this one piqued my interest on How To Spend It.
The bright red cotton sweater is by Madrid-based brand, Diarte, which is based around everyday basics drawing inspiration from ‘natural landscapes, contemporary art and strong architecture’. (more…)



Denim update: Chimala – Japanese do it better

Further to my jeans post, I tried the 701s. Oh dear oh dear, what was I thinking? Great if you’re 7 feet tall, fugeddaboudit otherwise! The denim was nice though.

On the white 501s front, I bought a pair of the 501 cropped from Next of all places (first thing I’ve ever bought from Next I think!), because they had my size and they do click and collect. I have to say, the shopping experience was smooth and painless. The jeans are OK, not particularly cropped but I’ll just turn them up like I do my other ones. (more…)
