Thakoon Panichgul launches HommeGirls
Loving the sound of HommeGirls – Thakoon Panichgul’s multimedia celebration of gentlewoman style. It launches this week with an Instagram account, website and print zine, with plans to monetise later with affiliate links to brands. Also later will come ‘limited runs of repurposed men’s blazers, as well as collaborations with established brands’, according to Vogue. Contributors to the zine include photographers Cass Bird and Vanina Sorrenti, which gets two thumbs up from me.
“Fashion is on the verge of becoming just another form of entertainment, one more thing to distract us from the realities of daily life. We are dressing to have our pictures taken—something we all learned from the Red Carpet — only now, thanks to social media, we are both photographer and subject. And lest our followers get bored, we are swiping through our closets with reckless abandon,” says Panichgul on the unsustainable pace of the fashion circus.
For now, HommeGirls is a passion project, so not intended to make money, which is kind of refreshing. It’s good to indulge creativity for creativity’s sake if you can afford it every now and then. See HommeGirls here and read more about gentlewoman style here.

Thakoon Customer service is no customer service at all. I purchased a sweater and they refused to exchange it for another size. Will be the last time I ever purchased anything from this designer. You pay that kind of money you expect better
