Oh happy days! Gap’s fortunes are on the upswing and to celebrate, the new collections are getting ready to drop. The latest in-store and marketing campaign Back To Blue has already arrived, celebrating true blue denim in all its forms. Gap’s iconic portraits – when classic is best



I spotted this great portrait of Rifat Ozbek by Steven Meisel (above) in a book in the Gap store. The book is Individuals: Portraits from the Gap Collection and is currently going for a song on Amazon. The book is full of portraits by the likes of Herb Ritts, Annie Leibovitz, David Sims and Meisel and goes to show that Gap has been doing for years what lots of brands are only just doing now. That is, photographing interesting people in a way that represents their own style. (more…)



On Gap’s virtual stylist and Topshop’s ‘Spotted’ feature




Some may say that Gap is widely missing the mark with its Styld-by site but I think it’s rather inspired. Enlisting the individual style of its media partners Lookbook.nu, Refinery29, Rue, Who What Wear and MOG, it features outfits styled on non-models using Gap mixed with their own clothes. (more…)



Best buy: Gap’s soft, fairytale-print bra by Sasha Pivovarova



More on Models Who Paint, Sasha Pivovarova has waved her watercolour brush over a capsule collection of undies and loungewear for Gap. I’m always on the hunt for pretty soft-cup bras in teeny sizes to wear under my growing collection of cream Equipment blouses and white Cos shirts. So far I’ve had a bit of success with Cos and Myla and I have my eye on some eye-popping Deborah Marquit. I’ll definitely be giving Pivovarova’s fairytale print bra a whirl – it’s 100% silk, comes with matching bottoms and is available in Gap stores.
