Er, hello Matchesfashion.com with your rather excellent (and free) The Style Report magazine! The retailer has stepped up its editorial considerably lately, not least with its current cover and feature on Caroline De Maigret.

Everyone’s current favourite French fancy, the interview is soooo good, she is charmingly blunt in the way that only Parisienne women seem to be able to get away with. Form through colour: art and textiles

If you love colour and geometric graphics it’s hard not to be drawn to the work of Josef Albers. Showing at Somerset House for another two weeks (until 31st August) is FORM THROUGH COLOUR, an exhibition of Christopher Farr textiles inspired by the works of Josef Albers, his wife Anni Albers and contemporary artist Gary Hume. Sneak Peek: Arthur Elgort – ‘The Big Picture’



Gotta love Instagram for sneak peeks. I saw this one on hairdresser Christiaan’s* Insta, it’s of Arthur Elgort with his next photo book, The Big Picture.

It’s being published by Steidl again who singlehandedly win the argument of why print is still relevant – theirs are just the best quality books in every way. The book comes out in November.

*Christiaan doesn’t need a surname, and is apparently working on his own book, fyi



Mastered: Bloggers doing it for themselves

So I had a feeling 2014 was going to be a big year for blogging and I was right. Some of my blog buddies have achieved huge things this year, for starters, look how many fashion bloggers are writing books. Not e-books, but big printed things full of that weird stuff called paper. Susie Bubble is working on her second book (if you count Style Feed which she contributed to), while Sasha Wilkins/Liberty London Girl has just sent her convivial cookery book to print. (more…)
