Beauty news: & Other Stories – the beauty booty



Everyone’s getting jolly excited about H&M’s new launch – & Other Stories. Pitched as a brand about ‘style’ rather than ‘fashion’, it’s been seeding videos for the last few weeks and launch day is almost upon us (8th March, Regent Street, London).

Talk about eye-catching, these vibrant portraits of Ari Seth Cohen’s ‘Advanced Style‘ ladies are popping right off the page. Commissioned by Karen Walker to launch her SS13 eyewear collection, Karen Walker Forever, they’re a ‘celebration of eternal optimism’ and  feature four stylish seniors shot in their own New York homes. Just dropped: Agyness Deyn for Dr Martens SS13



Just arrived at Dr Martens… this new collection by Agyness Deyn. This time, her inspiration was Harajuku, hence the chunky naive sandals, Minnie Mouse bows and loveheart motifs. I’m glad to see that Dr Martens has hit its stride in recent seasons, aligning itself with the modern heritage movement and successfully catering to old and new customers (the stores in Westfield Stratford and Carnaby Street are pitch perfect). Are Twitter-checkers causing magazine sales to slide?



This is an interesting snippet about why fewer people are buying print magazines. According to Biz Report, the ‘mobile blinder’ effect (people hypnotised by the constant feeds on their cell phones) means customers aren’t picking up magazines at the supermarket checkout anymore. In the US,  newsstand sales of magazines are down by 8%. I’m definitely one,of those people who checks Twitter at any given moment (but I’m trying to break the habit). Are you?
