It’s been a busy week for fashion with Vetements, Comme des Garçons and Saint Laurent dominating the feeds. And a sad loss for design with the shocking news of the passing of architect Zaha Hadid. Here’s my latest DRG STYLE INDEX ranking, rounding up the brand stories that grabbed my attention…
1. THE OTHER GVASALIA

2. HEDI SLIMANE EXITS SAINT LAURENT
Awwww what a shame to have the news confirmed that Hedi Slimane and Saint Laurent have not renewed contracts. Yeah, I know the rumours have been pinging around for weeks, but still. At least we have this just-released ad campaign shot of Jane Birkin for Saint Laurent, photographed by Hedi. A small consolation but I’ll take it…
3. COMME THE F*CK DOWN
Car crash of the week came from the Observer story that did the rounds on Twitter, portraying Comme des Garçons’ Rei Kawakubo as a deranged, husband-controlling, anti-feminist power freak. I don’t put many people on pedestals but come on, Rei is untouchable! That said, the writer, Jacques Hyzagi gets a chance to defend himself here…
4. TOPSHOP BEAUTY LAUNCHES DENIM NAILS
Topshop’s denim is undeniably the queen bee of high street denim. To go with, how about a matching array of blues for your nails? Mom nails perhaps…?
5. WHAT TO BUY FROM MULBERRY’S CAPSULE COLLECTION
Mulberry has released the first capsule collection of Johnny Coca’s designs. They’re not earth shattering, but they’re a step in the right direction for Mulberry. I’m into the scarlet crossbody Clifton bag, the Estelle biker jacket and the Marylebone booties. Coachella is just around the corner and Mulberry loves a bit of seeding so don’t be surprised to see these populating your Insta very soon…
