New brand alert! Weepingly expensive but how beautiful. I discovered École de Curiosités via the Tiina The Store e-newsletter. It’s a Franco-Japanese brand by designer Hans Ito, produced in France from delicious-sounding new and vintage fabrics like ‘typewriter cotton’. Very much in the Egg-meets-Sofie-D’Hoore mould, it’s all roomy dresses,  boyish shirts and relaxed linen tailoring. (more…)

Black Friday, black schmiday! I don’t really go mad for these sales unless I need something practical (I’m currently Googling printers #fml) but otherwise I would approach them the same way I do any other sale season; look for the ‘investment buys’ that I couldn’t usually afford.

For me that means hunting out the Christophe Lemaire, Sofie d’Hoore and Margaret Howell goodies that have a long lifespan and won’t date. (more…)

Sofie D’Hoore is a new name on my radar which I discovered in Fenwick this week. It’s one of those stealth luxury lines, in the same vein as A.P.C, Studio Nicholson, Celine and Margaret Howell. I really like the understated styling. And the coats. Which I tried on (all of them) and they were perfect. (more…)
