Gentlewoman style: École de Curiosités
New brand alert! Weepingly expensive but how beautiful. I discovered École de Curiosités via the Tiina The Store e-newsletter. It’s a Franco-Japanese brand by designer Hans Ito, produced in France from delicious-sounding new and vintage fabrics like ‘typewriter cotton’. Very much in the Egg-meets-Sofie-D’Hoore mould, it’s all roomy dresses, boyish shirts and relaxed linen tailoring.
I would rather spend £1000 on a dress from École de Curiosités than on a logo-tastic Raf-wannabe brand (not mentioning any names). But until I win the lottery, I can only pray for sample sales, a diffusion line or perhaps some sort of Uniqlo collab in the future. Sigh.

All so gorgeous – love love the aesthetic. I’m a Sophie D’Hoore fan as well.

Yep pricing on these pieces are def. not low, but considering the quality and that they are, as far as i can tell, entirely made in France, i think it’s fair and reasonable.
By the way: instead of waiting for a colllab, you should try out the lncc sale. i ordered the jonas jacket there today. it just been 300€. Maybe you too can get a deal there :-)

Good idea Thimo – thanks! Agree, I think you get what you pay for, but a bargain is always nice :)
