Gwyneth Leech for Anthropologie: 1001 coffee cup stories

This is such a lovely idea from Anthropologie. I saw it on Instagram and I’m miffed I didn’t make it down during the London Design Festival while it was happening in London…

Gap’s Styld.By site has evolved since the last time I wrote about it and even better, this time I’m on it! The site’s premise is non-models wearing Gap their way, styling it with their own clothes to showcases their signature style. I was asked to take part in the Back To Blue denim campaign, choosing a few Gap denim pieces and styling them in my lazy casual, tomboy way. The first installment is below and here. I’m wearing Gap’s indigo ‘sexy boyfriend’ jeans (I went up a size to make them extra loose) with my own ancient Helmut Lang sweatshirt, Agnes B tee, battered Church’s shoes and a Prada manbag. Nostalgic ephemera: useless crap or valuable treasure?

1 Ica-Off-site

David Bowie Is at the V&A was a brilliant trip down memory lane as well as a peek into the brain of the enigma that is Bowie. However much we see of him, do we really feel like we know the man? Apparently, he kept an archive of everything he had ever done from his early youth.

Every song lyric, sketch, photo, sleeve design was carefully stored for…what? He didn’t know at his early age that he would become an icon of his time, but I guess the ambition was there.

Looking at the vitrines curated by a cast of London creatives at the ICA Off-Site project, ‘A Journey Through London Subculture – 1980s to now’, it’s clear that a lot of people have also kept the ephemeral fragments that sum up their artistic journey. From flyers to Polaroids, to scratchy notes and stickers, what to some looks like old junk, is of intrinsic value, especially in the digital age of cloud storage. Buy Burberry’s SS14 runway coats now

Burberry-Prorsum-ss14-coats

Burberry showed a lot of coats on it’s Spring-Summer 2014 runway. Of course, they were light spring coats, not heavy wool ones. And they were knitted, rather than waterproofs.

As is Burberry’s way, you can order these now online, meaning they will work for autumn as well as spring.

Here are three of my favourites – you have until September 30th to get your order in:
