This month’s Vogue has a shopping page called Desert Storm inspired by Instagram-filter shades of tan, sand and parchment. For me it conjurs up Michael Kors ad campaigns (it’s Mario Testino’s tenth year behind the lens), Mykonos landscapes and the denim-and-suede-clothed staycations of my 1980s childhood.
