THE NEW YORK TIMES ON THE FASHIONISATION OF BEAUTY
In the same week that Marc Jacobs Beauty leaked a handful of its products on Sephora, (the entire range officially launches next month), the New York Times wrote a story on how fashion designers are innovating in make-up. CHANEL MEETS DRIES VAN NOTEN
On the subject of catwalk make-up lust, you might like to know the exact lip shade used in Dries Van Noten’s sublime SS13 show (above). Chanel’s Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick in L’Exuberante (£25) was the choice of Dries make-up artist Peter Phillips. Which isn’t that much of a surprise when you consider he also spends a fair amount of time developing Chanel’s makeup colours. Buy it here

I haven’t smelt this yet but I’m definitely going to hunt it out. Jo Malone London’s limited edition Rose & Rosemary Candle is a calming but atmospheric blend of rose, rosemary, thyme and sage ‘inspired by the rambling English garden’. Doesn’t it sound blissful? What’s unusual and brilliant is that the entire £45 of the RRP goes towards charitable projects that promote physical and mental health and bring beauty to urban garden spaces. An all-round win if ever there was one…

M&S LAUNCHES DOWNTON ABBEY BEAUTY LINE
M&S is doing some very clever things with beauty. I’m a big fan of its beauty concept space – a calmer browsing experience than Boots and Superdrug, where you can try and buy the likes of Nuxe, Ren and Acca Kappa alongside lesser known brands. Also clever is this Downton Abbey product line that comes in beautiful packaging that’s sure to send American tourists into raptures.
