What’s your can’t-live-without make-up product? After foundation and concealer (boring!), mine’s lip gloss. It may fade in and out of fashion but it’s never far from my face, especially now when everyone’s banging on about matte lipstick (gag) and ombre lips (just, no).
Coming next week is Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss, a new formulation of 24 moisturising shades with seductive names like Opulence, Decadent and Impulsion. (more…)
I watched the Dries van Noten AW17 live stream on Facebook Live and enjoyed the interaction and running commentary from fellow viewers. It was wholly positive except for some anti-fur comments. I loved seeing my fave 90s models – Cecilia Chancellor, Emma Balfour, Amber Valetta, Kirsten Owen – owning the catwalk in Dries’ boxy blazers and slouchy denim (with ankle socks and chunky heels or winklepickers – fab!). I’m not a big fan of the word ‘content’. Too often it signifies churned out ‘filler’ that brands use because they feel they need ‘something’ on their endless marketing channels. (Which they do, but it could be much more meaningful than the same content we see everywhere.) Hopefully Ezra Petronio will help change that with his Self Service spin off, Content Matters. (more…)
Maybe it’s because we’ve been battered by Storm Doris, maybe it’s just my bad circulation but my icy extremeties are crying out for tufty mohair layers. For AW17 they’ll be delivered by Prada, who showed fuzzy mismatched twinsets and beaded skirts styled with floral-printed coats and bedazzled shoes. (more…)
