Louis Vuitton has done it again, riling the purists with its Jeff Koons collab that launched last week. A collection of accessories that reproduces old masters paintings onto tote bags with the artist’s name picked out in graphic typography, its aim according to Koons is to bring high art to the street. Calvin Klein AW17: God bless America
First look at Raf Simons’ vision for Calvin Klein AW17. The first look that came out was perfection, a red-white-and-blue ensemble of red piped flat-front pants with blue tucked-in felted shirt and white poloneck, plus steel-capped cowboy boots. Very clean, direct and optimistic in its message. The show continued in a similar vein, an ode to American classics, including artisanal quilting inside parka jackets, Ralph-Lauren-meets-Helmut-Lang double-breasted camel coats, (more…)

Spring forward – ten trends to try for 2017
OK, I know trends and seasons are ‘dead’ and all that but I can’t help it, trend-speak is ingrained in me! I’m counting the days* til I can shrug off the sixteen layers of padded coats and woollens and prance around in ‘crisp cotton shirts’ and barely there shorts. (Yeah right, I have not worn shorts in this country for at least ten years.)
