Gentlewoman style: Tonne Goodman on the perfect classic jean

Tonne Goodman on the perfect classic jean

A pin on Pinterest sent me down a classic denim rabbit hole where I arrived at this excellent throwback post on Jean Stories. It’s a fab interview with Vogue’s Tonne Goodman on what makes the perfect jean. According to this piece, it’s J Brand, Club Monaco or J. Crew, preferably in white.

I’ve been living in my white Levi’s 501s for the last couple of weeks and can’t get enough of them. They’re definitely much smarter than my worn-in blue ones. I could do with another option although can’t quite bring myself to spend £200 on jeans and it’s proving hard to find decent non-stretch jeans on the high street.

My other option for smart jeans is deep indigo raw denim. I like Nudie and A.P.C but Blackhorse Lane Ateliers has been getting lots of attention lately and collaborates with quite a few designers. Apparently a women’s offer is in the works…
