Buy it now: the My-wardrobe edit

This has been quite the year for My-wardrobe. It’s changed it’s remit to offer a more mixed hi-lo edit, with a stable of Brit designers in its ‘London Lab‘ sitting alongside our international favourites. There’s a ton of Carven (hello wool gazar bell-shaped skirt) and an injection of Kurt Geiger London amongst core My-wardrobe brands like Joseph, DVF and Goat.

Here’s a few of my current favourites…

Buy it now: AW13 first drop

As is the rule, the hottest British weather is accompanied by fresh in-store deliveries of, well, knits, boots, scarves and socks. So here are my picks of the new autumn collections that you could wear now, after sundown should you so wish (although ideally not all at once). My vote goes to the Carven sweater and Matthew Miller ‘Born To Fail’ men’s top – especially teamed with J.W. Anderson’s ample skirt. Plus a bit of equestrian detail (on the Village England bag – new label alert!) is always welcome for the summer-autumn switchover…

Buy it now: new spring things

This winter I did really well on the jumper front so for now I can ease off on the knitwear buying. That said, I’m very drawn to Stella’s fruit salad chevron stripes and these Maria La Rosa socks. For tapping into the big 60s monochrome story, Motel’s block-striped top will come in very useful, both with tailored skirts (like Carven’s lush poppy red one) and boy fit jeans. Its loosely cut proportions are very flattering and the zip at the back makes it slightly more dressy. While the skinny cigarette heel is making a huge comeback, chunky heels and flatforms are still best for everyday city living – preferably dipped in silver or gold…

Carven for Petit Bateau launches today on Farfetch.com

Fashion collaborations are standard these days, but some are a better fit than others. So how’s this for a perfect match? Carven meets Petit Bateau in a capsule collection of gamine tops, dresses, polo-bodies and detachable collars. Just beautiful. The collection launches today exclusively on only three etail sites (until 4th December when it goes on general release). (more…)
