Jofama X Edwin



Brand collaborations are the norm these days but boy do I cringe when some get it wrong! A great collaboration should make sense; the fit should be logical, not laboured and should retain the essence of both/all parties. Here’s a great example of a collaboration that works. Swedish leather brand Jofama has a long history in making aviator and biker jackets and has tapped Edwin to recreate one of its classics with an updated twist here and there. Said twists resulting in ‘The Airwoman’ jacket include a lush red silk lining, vintage rivets and a removable collar. Easy.



FOUND! The detachable collar that wont swivel!



Thanks to Keep It Chic I have discovered a new fashion term. A ‘topping’ is apparently the name of these switcheroo collars that have a bit of extra fabric to keep them in place. The word ‘topping’ came from CeCe Toppings‘ founder Jamie Turquie; “it’s the top of the shirt. The word ‘dickey* was so unattractive that it automatically put off so many people. My new blog obsession is ISYSArchive.TV, a picture-heavy site that came to my attention via the lovely Karen Savage. Karen had a successful T-shirt design business in the 90s and we moved in the same clubbing circles but never actually spoke until fairly recently. New vintage store: Blitz London



Does London need another vintage store? Hell yes when it’s Blitz London, a new 5-room ‘vintage department store’ in Hanbury Street, E1. The press release promises all sorts of riches, including new stock every day, an in-store cafe, upcycled furniture, blogger-friendly ‘account managers’ and a mix of reasonably priced and rare vintage finds (hello Swatch watches).
