I’m loving it – the Valentine’s edit
Valentine’s gift guide klaxon! Don’t worry it’s a twee-free zone. Here are a few buys that have caught my eye in the fashion and beauty sphere. Well, mainly beauty actually. You know I find smelly candles hard to resist, especially when the containers are as um, love-ly as the scents.
Example: Bella Freud’s new Loving candle is a mix of tuberose and sandalwood in a suitably dreamy etched red glass holder. Definitely her sweetest scent yet. Miller Harris is undergoing something of a transformation with graphic branding and this special (and rather clever) collaboration with LOVE magazine. The limited edition ‘LOVE’ version of the Tangerine Vert candle (below) is a zesty blend of grapefruit, orange flower and musks…
An exclusive coup for Net-a-Porter (US only), Aerin’s first artisanal perfume, Rose De Grasse has just launched on the site. I’m a big fan of Aerin’s gentle fragrances in their gorgeous bottles and this one is extra romantic, a blend of Rose Centifolia, Rose Otto Bulgarian and Rose Absolute. And just in time for V day comes Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Magic, a honey-scented lip balm, impregnated with hyaluronic acid. It’s seriously good, with seriously sexy packaging but also seriously spendy (£25), so one for the wish list. (Or spend £80 and buy the ‘So Marilyn’ set that comes in a snazzy lip-shaped pochette.)
On the fashion front, Louis Vuitton’s ‘Me & Me’ initial pendants (£270, pictured top and below) are calling my name, I love their architectural tubular font. And for your single bff, do buy Daisy de Villeneuve’s sharp-tongued new book (pictured bottom) of illustrated ‘should’ve saids’, called, of course, I Should Have Said…
