All about lips: Man Ray for NARS Holiday
I love how NARS Cosmetics comes up with clever but classic arty collaborations for its special collections. It never seems gimicky because the execution is always beautiful. (Remember the Sarah Moon collection?) This Man Ray for NARS Holiday collection is such a good choice with a mix of simple lip motifs and more statementy photo prints for the palettes.
Shown top and above is the Man Ray for NARS Noire Et Blanche Audacious Lipstick Coffret. Apart from the fact that coffret is my favourite beauty word (that means Christmas is coming…), I think this set of four mini lipsticks in a special decorative pot is such a no-brainer gift. Classic shades, useful size, reusable Man Ray printed magnifying pot, not bad for £42.
Below is the Man Ray for NARS Love Game Eyeshadow Palette shown both closed and open (£45 exclusive to Space NK). Inspired by Man Ray’s muse Ady Fidelin, it has the loveliest selection of warm neutral and jewel-tone eye colours.
Lips are a motif I have always loved, they never seem to get old. Yves Saint Laurent was a fan and Pat McGrath has used gold lips as part of her Pat McGrath Labs packaging. I actually have a pair of Prada lip print mules (never worn, you know I hate mules!) that I can’t bear to part with. They really are a work of art. This gold lip motif make-up case with four matte velvet lip pencils (£48, below, exclusive to Space NK) is a killer. It could easily double as a clutch and would be great for travelling, plus I love the formulation of NARS lip pencils. And the Double Take Overexposed Glow Highlighter is another useful, timeless hero product elevated with surrealist lip imprints. Yours for £30 (limited edition formula).
I love that there is something for every price point. These NARS Love Triangle trinkets (£20, below) contain a mini blush and a lipstick. So, so chic! There are a few varieties – this one is Impassioned (blusher) and Anna (lipstick) – but note that the lip motif is only on the box, not the product.
These are scheduled to go on sale in the UK on October
15th12th. I don’t like creating ‘buy it now’ hysteria but I think these are worth grabbing as soon as you see them. In the U.S, they’re available now at NARS boutiques and narscosmetics.com. [Update: they’ve arrived in the UK at SpaceNK, Fabled, Look Fantastic and narscosmetics.co.uk.]

Que colores tan lindos, tan de labial como de sombras.
