Prada SS24 faves I always love Prada’s show styling. SS24 was a fabulous hybrid of utility toughness and romantic flou. My favourite look was the ‘Haze’ dress in superfine organza and gazar with wafty ‘wings’ trailing behind, accessorised with a ballerina hairband. (Yes, you can totally repurpose your opaque tights like we did in 1994.)Also love the tucked-in trouser suits with supersized sleeves and unbuttoned flappy cuffs, especially in the shorts suit paired with chiselled Derbys and ankle socks.More on the blog - disneyrollergirl.net or link in bio#prada #ss24 #miucciaprada #rafsimons

Memories of Joseph Tricot? Do share!The Joseph handknits of the 80s were a major ‘garconne style’ influence on me – massive playful sweaters that would be teamed with black tights or leggings and a short boyish crop (think Inès de la Fressange or Jeny Howorth), plus plenty of attitude. They really summed up the London spirit of the 80s that was *not* about Dynasty-style shoulder pads or page-three-girl blonde bouffants. No surprise that the original knits are now still highly wearable and highly collectible.@Josephfashion is about to pay tribute to these sweaters and its 40-year heritage with a new limited edition capsule collection (swipe to last pic 👀) Read more on the blog (incl a few great nostalgia trips in the comments). AW23 TO-DO LIST. Soooo many female-focussed exhibitions and cultural events. Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto just opened at the @vamuseum. Looking into the woman and the legacy, it’s apparently already sold out for the first couple of months so don’t snooze on this one. (UPDATE: It's now completely sold out.) I’m also looking forward to Jacqueline Rabun A Retrospective at @carpentersworkshopgallery from 20th September. A pioneer of the tactile, sculptural jewellery forms so popular today, this show collates more than 250 pieces from @jacquelinerabun’s collection alongside archive drawings and photos.Tapping into the contemporary fetish for artists’ personal effects, Joan Didion: What She Means at Pérez Art Museum Miami (until 7th January 2024) features more than 200 personal objects, artworks and ephemera in an exploration of the writer’s life, work and influence on culture.Later this year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art will show Women Dressing Women (from 7th December) tracing the history of fashion and its role in enabling economic freedom and independence via the museum’s archive of female designer fashion.Meanwhile, at the cinema, I’m looking forward to @sofiacoppola’s portrayal of Priscilla Presley and teen girlhood.
