Club Monaco: what inspires you?



I love the casting of Club Monaco‘s look book shoots – remember Lauren Hutton for SS11? This season we also have this adorable behind-the-scenes video including interview snippets with the likes of actress Anna Brewster (loving the beret), model Sara Blomqvist and Leandra from The Man Repeller…

If you’re a fan, Club Monaco has also just launched a cute social media contest where you can win a camera and some free CM swag by submitting an original photo of what inspires you via Facebook, Tumblr or email. The tagline ‘Be our Muse: We’re Inspired By What Inspires You’ chimes with the current democratic nature of fashion and social media and of-course, the whole photo-sharing culture of blogs and Tumblr. The contest is open until 11th October…

Sunday Times Style on fashion ‘career’ bloggers: my thoughts

Olivia Palermo’s blog launches next week




As has been breathlessly reported for months, Olivia Palermo is launching a blog. And it arrives next week (read Fashionista’s interview with OP here). As I wrote recently, it’s the natural move for the fashion plate to move into editing her own site and as I also predicted, the focus won’t be purely fashion but lifestyle. Another smart move, there will be ‘click to buy’, not only a way to monetise (I presume it will be an affiliate model) but a good way to research what brands her readers are interested in.

Save the date: Westfield Car Bootique Blogger Tutorials




This Saturday I’ll be at Westfield London‘s Car Bootique along with The Style PA, and Fashion Foie Gras giving blogging tutorials to anyone who wants to start a blog or learn how to take theirs to the next level. I’ll be hosting the advanced* intermediate session for 20 people at 430pm so if you’ve been blogging for a while and feel you’ve plateaued or simply want to pick up some tips, this could be a good opportunity to pick my brains and do a bit of networking.

I have been given 5 tickets to offer my followers so if you’d like one, just email [email protected] with ‘BLOGGER TUTORIAL’ in the subject bar, a link to your blog, a phone number and a short biog.
