Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop: Wish you were there?




A recent interview with Topshop‘s Kate Phelan revealed that the creative director plans to make its designer collaborations bigger and better. “I think before, the collaborations have always been seen as something quite small compared to the rest of the business. There’s so much potential in the relationship we have with the designers, we should maximise it.” And what great sense that makes. Prime example: last week’s Meadham Kirchhoff kitschfest – an all singing and dancing in-store extravaganza at the London Topshop flagship. Wish you were there?

I really need to hurry up and get my hands on the Thakoon for Nars nail collection. Inspired by Indian festivals (when is Tim Walker going to do a Holi-themed shoot?), there are six of these searing bright colours to try. On my radar: posh satchels



Last month I wrote about printed satchels for Glamour, this month I’m feeling posh satchels. I like the elongated, less childlike shape of Danielle Foster’s leather satchel (below), and Buki Akib’s  knitted satchels (above) inspired by Fela Kuti’s wives and made by craftswomen in Lagos.  (more…)
