WALES BONNER’S PLAYFUL UNIFORM. I’m so here for @walesbonner womenswear – “a playful uniform that everyone wants to wear”. Boyish proportions, fine tailoring (by Anderson & Sheppard, I hope), plus a tee featuring a model photographed for Ebony magazine in collab with Theaster Gates’s The Black Image Corporation. Read more on disneyrollergirl.net, Substack or link in biohttps://www.disneyrollergirl.net/aw25-trend-report-shopping/https://open.substack.com/pub/disneyrollergirl/p/trend-report-what-to-wear-for-aw25P.S. congrats to Grace Wales Bonner on the just announced Hermès menswear gig (first collection will be unveiled in January ss27). I’m imagining the scrum from all the women who’ll also be gagging for it 👏

LET THEM WEAR 90S MANOLOS. I’m noticing a lot of elegant (50mm) mules and slingbacks and much as I’m mule-averse, I can’t help feeling there’s a #manoloblahnik revival brewing. Evidence: the relentless 90s Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy redux (Jackie Kennedy meets Helmut Lang), the upcoming Issy Blow biopic (although that’s a YEAR away!), the subtle shift to hyper-feminine dressing, and the @vamuseum’s new #MarieAntoinette exhibition which boasts its own Manolo Blahnik capsule collection (inspired by the shoes he designed for Sofia Coppola’s 2006 film).I’m all about an unexpected twist so I’d love to see these frou frou shoes teamed with long or short socks, a pleated midi skirt or baggy painter pants a la @letiquette_magazine ✨See more in my AW25 trend report and shop the post on disneyrollergirl.net or Substackhttps://www.disneyrollergirl.net/aw25-trend-report-shopping/https://open.substack.com/pub/disneyrollergirl/p/trend-report-what-to-wear-for-aw25

Oh Jil!Simone Bellotti’s Jil Sander debut felt stripped back to the spare linear silhouettes of OG Jil Sander, with a pure colour palette that nodded to Raf-era.My highlights: the cold eroticism of Lucio Fontana-esque cutaway slashes in the skirts and cut-out back details, unexpected pops of silver, some great bags and the flat shoes ❤️More on disneyrollergirl.net (no paywall!)#jilsander #simonebellotti #ss26

Hot mess A corner of Lucian Freud’s studio, left untouched since his death in 2011.Phone numbers still scrawled across the walls. Scissors, once used to trim paintbrushes, remain wedged into layers of dried paint. Mountains of rags worn from years of wiping his brushes. 📍138 Kensington Church Street, W8Via @collectorwalls

Oh, the Medusa head medallion-clutching at Versace ss26! The debut collection by former Miu Miu CD Dario Vitale had the fashion world polarised, meaning EVERYBODY is talking about it. Probably all part of the plan. The sexy Donatella-era glamour was nowhere to be seen, replaced by a chaotically-styled, gen-Z appealing thrift explosion. My first reaction: where was the stylist? Did they have a stroke at the first sight of the collection? No. It’s all part of Versace’s great reset, a kind of Alessandro-at-Gucci experiment and (whether we find it aesthetically pleasing or not) an unapologetic point of view. In the current climate of too many brands, every brand really needs to clearly define their vibe and own it. Let’s see how it all plays out 🍿More on disneyrollergirl.net (no paywall!)#versace #dariovitale #ss26
