THE DRG STYLE INDEX: CHANEL, BURBERRY, J.W.ANDERSON, BLAZÉ MILANO
Here’s the latest weekly DRG STYLE INDEX ranking, a round-up of the brands currently buzzing on my radar…
1. MEET CHANEL’S NEW BOY.FRIEND WATCH
Big news for Chanel – there’s a major new watch arriving in September, to accompany its other signature styles, the ceramic J12, and the chain-strapped Premiere. The Boy.Friend (named after Boy Capel – get it?) is extremely good looking and comes in both large and small sizes. 2. THE J.W. ANDERSON EFFECT
Jonathan Anderson has definitely got the golden touch when it comes to creating a covetable brand. How else to explain my eagerness to get hold of a copy of the limited edition J.W. Anderson i-D cover, featuring, well see for yourself…It’s different, graphic, attention-grabbing and just plain desirable. (Yes, there are also versions from Phoebe Philo, Palace and Raf Simons, but the J W one is the one I think is most collectable want most…)
3. BREAKFAST AT BURBERRY’S
How the hell did I miss the memo that Burberry was opening a café? Well, said café (called Thomas’s) has now opened as part of the Regent Street flagship, with the menu boasting delights such as lobster and chips and afternoon tea, with ingredients sourced from UK suppliers. Book me a window seat…
Am I early or late to the Blazé Milano party? I discovered Blazé Milano via Alex Eagle’s Instagram, and from what I can gather, it’s a blazer-focussed line of hand-made-to-order Italian blazers. They have lovely details like these unusual curved pockets and you can have yours monogrammed too. I think the Blazé Milano Insta speaks for itself…
