It’s a Bruce Weber Christmas at Selfridges (here’s the film, now buy the tee)

The best thing about this Bruce Weber for Selfridges Christmas video isn’t the eclectic cast of animals, kids and fabulistas, or the signature jazzy soundtrack, or Weber’s magical feel-good fantasy world that makes you want to climb into the screen and stay there. No, for me it’s the fact that you (meaning I) can buy one of the Bruce Weber tees for a mere £20 at Selfridges Wonder Room with all proceeds going to Kids Company.

Yes, Christmas just came early…

The Pet Shop Boys wear J.W.Anderson

Pet Shop Boys Leaving JW Anderson

Good spot on Twitter by Richard Gray from Sunday Times Style of Chris Lowe wearing J.W.Anderson’s quilted hat on the cover of the Pet Shop Boys’ single, Leaving. I’ve always maintained that the Pet Shop Boys have immense style, from their videos, to their record sleeves to their outfits.

Here’s the hat in action on the AW12 catwalk… (more…)

H.Club 100 – celebrating innovators, visionaries and pioneers

Time Out and The Hospital Club have announced nominations for the H.Club 100 which celebrates Britain’s creative Innovators, Visionaries and Pioneers. Wowza. I’m very flattered to be nominated alongside my pal Rebekah Roy in the Fashion and Style category and espcially tickled to be sandwiched between Natalie Massenet and Nick Knight. Also in this category are Agi & Sam, Jonathan Anderson, Kate Phelan, Katie Hillier, Michael Howells, Sarah Burton… need I go on? I think you get the idea.

There are also categories for Advertising, Marketing and PR, Art and Design, Digital and Gaming, Film, Music, Performance, Publishing and Writing, Theatre and TV so if you feel like voting, all the info’s here.

Lancome’s beauty Christmas crackers are back

It’s not just me who’s a sucker for miniature beauty products. Last year’s beauty Christmas crackers from Jo Malone, Lancome et al sold out in record time so this year the brands have repeated the exercise. Although I notice that Lancome’s prices have crept up. Is it related to the Euro-crisis? This year’s Lancome crackers are retailing for £50 at Selfridges (compared to £38 last year) but I have a feeling this won’t affect sales. For your £50 you get six miniature Lancome hero prdoucts: Hypnôse Mascara 2ml, Bi-Facil 30ml, Mini Juicy Tube – Fraise 17, Visionnaire 7ml, Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate 7ml, Mini L’Absolu Rouge ßx Lipstick 06. Such a genius marketing idea. Will you be buying?
