On my radar: The V&A Reading Rooms



Thanks to my good friend Hips Like Boys for alerting me to the V&A Reading Rooms. I love a bookshop, especially a browse-friendly one, and even more especially a fashion-design-art one. Claire de Rouen and Koenig Books in Charing Cross Road are my first choices for book porn but tend to be a bit, er compact, for extended browsing. (more…)



Vassar Girls



LCF sent me its MA fashion journalism newspaper last week and I couldn’t put down Rebecca Tuite’s story about the ‘Vassar Girl’ look (the female Ivy League look, if you will). The Vassar Girl look was epitomised by an unofficial uniform of Bermuda shorts, Brooks Brothers shirts, twinsets, Shetland sweaters, loafers and knee socks. (more…)
