THE DRG STYLE INDEX: AESOP, VOGUE, AMERICAN APPAREL, HILLIER BARTLEY
Here’s the latest weekly DRG STYLE INDEX ranking, a round-up of the brands currently buzzing on my radar…
1. AESOP UNCOVERED
Aesop is one of those brands that keeps popping up, seemingly without too much effort (i.e, it’s not rammed down your throat by advertisers) (other than stealth product placement in every rough-luxe hotel and restaurant bathroom I go to…). If you’re intrigued by their philosophy, this is a good read from The-talks.com.
2. CONFIRMED: THE UK VOGUE DOCUMENTARY
This has been rumoured for a while and now it’s been confirmed. The UK Vogue team is finally getting its close-up with a two-part documentary. It will be aired next year on BBC2 to mark the magazine’s 100 year anniversary. Can’t wait.
3. CAN AMERICAN APPAREL BE SAVED?

4. FIRST LOOK AT HILLIER BARTLEY
This week I read an article about Matchesfashion.com, which flagged up one of of the e-tailer’s recent initiatives – the idea of pre-order. Even if the stock hasn’t arrived yet, it will upload images to the site for pre-order. As soon as the product arrives, it gets shipped, minimising any time lag and the chance of a competitor snatching the sale. Example: this sneak peek of the new Hillier Bartley line which is up on the site now for viewing and pre order (shop the post below…).
