Gentlewoman style: Burberry SS19 ad campaign

Burberry SS19 ad campaign by Colin Dodgson

Burberry just unveiled its first ad campaign under Riccardo Tisci. I like that it used a range of different photographers rather than just one, including the brilliant Nick Knight (below, with models standing in front of a painting by British artist, Jenny Saville) alongside two of my other faves, Colin Dodgson (above) and Letty Schmiterlow.

And in a further push for inclusivity, it’s featured Stella Tennant who is one of my favourite 90s models and seems to be everyone’s go-to when they want to tick the ‘cool’ 40+ box. (No shade to Stella, just my observation that maybe they could now cast that net a little wider.)

I really liked the reinvented classics of the Burberry SS19 show and I’ve noticed lots of people rediscovering the Burberry trench and digging out their Burberry check scarves – me included. Let’s see what Riccardo has in store next month to make Burbs great again. In the meantime, the Burberry SS19 collection lands in store very soon.
