The Yves Saint Laurent Museum in avenue Marceau is fast becoming an essential part of the Paris Fashion Week itinerary. To coincide with this season’s shows, October 10th sees the opening of “Gold by Yves Saint Laurent“, a celebration of the ‘magical’ colour he used from his very first collection in 1962.

Alongside opulent sequin and lamé couture pieces, gilded accessories and objects, will be more than 300 pieces of jewellery designed by Saint Laurent muse and garconne icon, Loulou de la Falaise (above). Other highlights include rare perfume bottles, signature gold buttons (below) and surrealist finger jewellery by Claude Lalanne (below). (more…)

I’m not surprised people are discovering the therapeutic effects of skating on mental health. Since the pandemic there’s been a huge rise in interest in roller skating which seems to be gaining even more momentum now we’re free to mingle.

From jam skating (dance meets skating) to street skating, there are all manner of niche roller skater communities cropping up that bring people together and allow them to offload their mental and physical stress. (more…)

If you’re in London for Frieze and need some zen time out from the frantic pace, here’s my tip. Go and chill at the Barbican.

The Noguchi show just opened two weeks ago at Barbican Centre and it’s a perfect stroll through the artist and designer’s timeline.

Isamu Noguchi was a sculptor and multidisciplinary designer, creating everything from theatre sets to kids’ playgrounds to furniture and of course, the now-classic Akari lighting. (more…)
