Content meets commerce: Harrods.com ‘Inside The Studio’ campaign



Harrods is giving a big push to its digital content, bolstering its e-commerce with rich, online editorial. This month, I’m partnering with Harrods to spread the word on its latest editorial campaign, Inside The Studio.

Tim Coppens’ handsome girls at NYFW SS15

I’m not all that familiar with Tim Coppens‘ work but I liked what I saw of his SS15 womenswear at NYFW. A little bit Wang, a little bit Tait, it’s continuing on the sports-luxe tip (that’s clearly got plenty of mileage yet) and looks luxurious, technically advanced and just commercial enough. Le Kilt: A classic reimagined

I love it when designers start off with one product item before slowly expanding into other areas. It’s much easier to get your head around their aesthetic and it gives you a hook to latch onto too. Example: Le Kilt. Samantha McCoach grew up watching her grandmother make kilts and forever inspired, launched her own modern kilt line this year (it’s currently stocked at Dover Street Market). There’s a lot of buzz around Russian designer-artist Gosha Rubchinkiy right now and the ICA has tapped into the curiosity by inviting him to discuss his multi-faceted approach to fashion at its Culture Now talks event on August 29th 31st. I would give you the details, except the tickets have already sold out. Soz. [UPDATE: The curator, Angela Hill has left a comment to point out that the talk is actually on the 29th and there are now a few more tickets available.]
