Tom Ford is a funny brand. I can totally leave the RTW (and truthfully I didn’t much care for Tom Ford at Gucci) but the beauty is a whole different beast. Have you been to the store in Sloane Street yet? You must. It’s a properly luxurious experience where you’ll get fussed and fawned over even if you’re just spritzing a tester. And if you’re going to buy one of Ford’s not-cheap fragrances, then this is the place to go for the full, added-value experience. (more…)

Buy it now: Three colours red

Here are three killer red lipsticks I’ve been trialling that I can recommend if you love strong Hollywood reds in posh packaging…

First is Rouge Néon (shade 50) from Yves saint Laurent’s Rouge Pur Couture Golden Lustre line (below, £25). This is a lush vermillion red that has an extremely flattering finish thanks to the addition of yellow, white and pink gold pearls. It’s definitely not pearlised though; the effect is more a subtle ‘lit from within’ radiance that is YSL’s DNA. Obviously, the gold casing is as fabulous as the lipstick inside, I never get bored with it. Buy it here and here…

Buy it now: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick

Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick (£20) has got to be one of the best chunky eye pencils around. The twist-up round-tipped crayon is the perfect thickness for rush hour application – just blend with a clean finger. I’ve been trialling Bittersweet, a limited edition everyday mocha from the new Rich Chocolate collection. It’s billed as a shadow or a smudgy liner but I think it’s a bit fiddly as a liner. As a long-lasting smoky shadow though, it’s foolproof.

Today’s the day! MAC’s Antonio Lopez palettes are out and aren’t they stunning – inside and out.

The lids are decorated with Lopez’ famous illustrations and the palettes contain lip, eye and face colours. Also in the collection are make-up bags, a powder/blush brush and a mirror. They go on counter and online today.
