ASMR hometail with Gabriela Hearst
I’m in KonMari heaven looking at this newly opened Gabriela Hearst flagship store on Madison Avenue. The perfectly folded sweaters, the pristine reclaimed oak and marble eco flooring, the minimalist styling offset with cosy honey-and-blonde colour palette; is this not the visual equivalent of ASMR? Not forgetting the lush leather bags in the handbag room (daddy, please can I have a handbag room) and that herringbone quilt wallhanging thingy to finish it all off.
This is ‘hometail’at its most luxurious, with an aim to create an inviting residential-style environment where the one percent Hearst’s customers can “enjoy talks, art exhibitions, and drinks at the Carlyle afterwards and develop a sense of community”. Note the absence of mannequins but the abundance of plush cashmere seating. And for the 99 per cent who can’t drop ten grand on an alligator Patsy tote, the edit of beauty lotions by Buly is the next best thing…
