Skater prep (for grown ups)
This shot from the Noah AW18 look book grabbed my attention last week. I thought I was over preppy anything, but right now I really want an oversized rugby, some too-short chinos (or cords) and have I mentioned my Pillow Heat deadstock Vans fixation?
Breaking it down, I don’t really want classic country club prep, I think I want skater prep – but the clean and ironed version. (The older I get, the more I realise grunge-chic loses a lot of its charm if your whole self is saggy, crumpled and creased. I don’t think that’s ageist, just a reality check.) So, yes to the skewed proportions, but also yes to good fabrics and clean finishing. Wonder if there’s a Noah X The Row collab in the works?
