Dior Cruise 2019

Dior Cruise 2019 by Jamie Stoker

I don’t know what I love more – Dior’s fantastical Cruise 2019 Toile de Jouy coats or Jamie Stoker’s fantastic backstage pictures. He has become one of my favourite fashion week photographers, delicately capturing the proceedings on analogue film.

The show took place in Chantilly, a typically Dior-ific extravaganza of Mexican ‘escaramuza’ rodeo riders, with the Great Stables of the Domaine de Chantilly a suitably thematic setting. Yes it rained spectacularly (surely nothing can faze Dior after that epic monsoon of the 2016 Blenheim Palace cruise show?), but the thrashing rain splashes and rugged wellies added to the drama.

Personal highlights? Khaki bar jackets, boyish shorts, Stephen Jones’s handsome headwear and those Toile de Jouy jungle-print coats. Other points to note: the Saddle bag is back, and Dior used the show to launched a new range of face and body foundations in forty shades.
