Gentlewoman style: Charlotte Gainsbourg X NARS
File this under collabs I never expected to see. NARS has collaborated with French beauty minimalist Charlotte Gainsbourg on a make-up collection. It’s suitably classic, with smoky eye shadows, berry-hued cheek tints, a Hydrating Glow Tint and a kohl liner in moody shades of grey, moss green and navy. I won’t lie, it sounds beautiful in a discreet, not-very-NARS kind of way.
It’s a bit surprising though, I don’t really think of make-up when I think of Gainsbourg. However there are so many super-statementy in-your-face make-up collaborations now, maybe this will work as a palate cleanse of sorts. I’m pretty sure we’re far from bored of jolie-laide French girls and their low maintenance routines anyway.
The NARS Hydrating Glow Tint sounds like it might be the standout. The Cut describes it as “the lightest version of whatever your favorite foundation is, but with a super hydrating texture that moisturizes the skin and lets it be seen, while giving it just the tiniest bit of polish.” Sounds perfect, no?
The Charlotte Gainsbourg X NARS collection is available in Selfridges (the brush set is exclusive to them) and the NARS Boutique now and then nationwide from 1st June.
