AW15 trend report: Hermes accessories edit
The Hermès Oran slide sandal made have been the hit of the summer, but there’s plenty more to love from the Hermès AW15 accessory collection. First, I have to flag up this A la Plume giant scarf by Florence Manlik. The abstract feather design has a bit of a pop art feel to it, and sorry, I know this is such a cliche but I would seriously love to have this framed and hung on my wall.
As I mentioned in The DRG Style Index a while ago, shoes are a major focus for Hermès, with boyish buckled boots and refined alligator heels getting equal attention…
There’s also a new watch release. The first new Hermes watch collection since 1992, the Slim d’Hermès is designed to be an everyday watch. It’s extremely appealing, with an elegant round dial, ultra-thin automatic movement and numerals designed by graphic designer Philippe Apeloig. There’s a growing trend for casual fine jewellery as exemplified by these wear-with-everything Filet d’or earrings. I also really love these calfskin and brass bangles and matching pendant with the white topstitch (I can’t help wondering if Hermes uses a custom Pantone colour to match this perfect shade of expensive tan)…
Finally, on the bag front, I love the playfulness of this lipstick pink Maxibox Mini, a boxy calf leather bag on a long wrist strap. The strap can slip over the shoulder or it can be doubled round the wrist…
