Deconstructing Céline Pre-Fall 2015
Deconstructing the Céline Pre-Fall 2015 collection is no bad way to spend a morning. The idiosyncratic signatures are all present and correct with the mohair shell top under belted wool tabard my main standout, along with the frayed, too-short trousers and loose leather harness (what else does one call this?).
The slashed-sided trousers aren’t quite my cup of tea (too many flashbacks to Morgan and Jane Norman circa 2002), but the super-stiff tailored trousers and jumbo coats are ample compensation. Accessossory wise? It’s all about a chunky chain necklace and the curvacious leather bags in burnished countryside neutrals.
