THE DRG STYLE INDEX: Céline, Revlon, Santoni, Save Khaki
Here’s the latest weekly DRG STYLE INDEX ranking, a round-up of the brands currently buzzing on my radar…
1. GET READY FOR CÉLINE E-COMMERCE (AND FINE JEWELLERY)
News just in: Céline is planning e-commerce by the end of the year. Good news for Céline-ophiles, especially as it’s also working on extending its shoe offer and introducing fine jewellery. That last nugget is interesting to me as fine jewellery is a booming e-commerce category for the luxury sector as more women buy posh baubles for themselves. Smart move.
2. REVLON JUST GOT MORE INTERESTING
Happy news – Linda Wells, the much loved former editor of Allure has been appointed as chief creative officer of Revlon. I grew up on Revlon make-up, while Allure sucked me into an interest in the beauty industry so I’m all ears (and eyes and lips) on this one. Revlon’s products are great but the branding… isn’t my cup of tea. One to watch.
3. MARCO ZANINI RETURNS
The brilliant Marco Zanini is back. Formerly of Halston and Schiaparelli, he’s now working with Italian accessories scion Giuseppe Santoni on a small-scale collection. “What’s relevant right now is integrity, humanity, attention, things made slowly and with love, a focused thinking process, an honest approach; less stuff and more substance,” Zanini told Vogue. Check out the relaxed coats, textured knits and fab shoes here.
4. SAVE KHAKI
Save Khaki is a menswear name that had bypassed me but it’s on my radar now thanks to Keep It Chic. The purveyor of understated men’s classics has collaborated with La Garconne on a women’s edit. Check it out here and click below to shop the post…
