One for the boys: Tom Ford’s beard maintenance kit

Tom Ford nails it again. Who knew beard oil was a must-have? But clocking the trend for beards and their maintenance, he has just introduced a mini range of beard grooming products including Swiss-made beard combs (£28) and the soon-to-be-cult conditioning beard oil (£40). Billed as a new way to sell scent, these lightweight oils are infused with Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille, Neroli Portofino or Oud Wood scents and contain a blend of essential oils and vitamin E.

I’ll say this: I’m not a beard lover. Beards for my generation were not cool – our dads had them so of course, we wanted nothing to do with them. But then, the beards of the 70s/80s tended towards shabby and scruffy, not proudly cultivated. And certainly not scented with luxury unguents.
