Putting in my Raf Simons SS18 (new) order
After Raf, I consider myself New Order’s second biggest fan. So I’ll be ordering all of the New Order merch lanterns, tees and jackets from the Raf Simons SS18 collection.
Those aside, I also love the red cocoon coats (inspired by his time at Dior), the wet-look macs and the 4XL size sweaters. The sou’wester bonnets? Not so much, but they all contributed to the styling and the overall mood.
The show was staged in the New York Supermarket on East Broadway, evoking a Blade Runner-esque scene of shiny streets, oppressive humidity and east-meets-west “cultures sliding together”. Punk and youth culture are omnipresent themes for Raf and they came across this season in a overall attitude rather than studs and safety pins…
Two days before the show, Kim Kardashian was spotted in a vintage Raf Simons jacket (from archivist David Casavants) over a vintage Ann Demeulemeester top and, um, neoprene cycling shorts. Sigh, it’s like the 90s never happened…

Love this – just put on Power Corruption and Lies and want the tshirt and love the plaid. Saw them at the Coogee Bay Hotel in Sydney early 1987 – so many memories with them and The Smiths. So happy I bought my husband and son some items from the Raf Simon/Fred Perry collaboration. Got to see The Who last night in DC – first time for husband and I. Really only have Led Zeppelin left and that’s not going to happen.

Ah I saw New Order at Brixton Academy not that long ago. (Well it feels like not long ago. Maybe it was a year ago, maybe two. Who knows!) They’re always good live even when they’re terrible. You have to keep going because every time you think it might be the last!! And obviously these days they’re not the *real* New Order without Hooky. I’m jealous you saw them in 87, that must have been epic!
