On my radar: Astley Clarke’s Astronomy jewellery

Astley Clarke Dominic Jones Astronomy jewellery

Astley Clarke has found a gem in its new creative director Dominic Jones. His story is an interesting one. He got off to a bright beginning with his anti-establishment jewellery designs and it-crowd inner circle (think early 2010s Alice Dellal, Daisy Lowe and co), then ten collections in, he shut up shop. The business had grown fast and he wasn’t sure he wanted to scale.

Instead, he took time out and pivoted. He’s now comfortably ensconced in-house at Astley Clarke, thanks to fashion entrepreneur and serial investor Carmen Busquets, who knows a great find when she sees one and got in touch.

Jones’ current Astronomy fine jewellery collection for Astley Clarke is a stunner. It mixes pavé diamonds, sapphires, labradorite, lapis, and rubies to depict the planets, as well as offering affordable 18 carat gold plated pendants for the everyday jewellery wearer.

Astley Clarke Agate Saturn Drop Earrings

I love the agate saturn drop earrings and pendant; playful conversation-starters without being overbearing. And the ruby mars ring is like a particularly shiny, juicy bon bon (spot the teeny emerald which is meant to depict a martian)!

As an added incentive, should you need one, 10% of the sales from the fine Astronomy Earth pieces will be donated to the World Land Trust charity to support its work to protect the world’s environment and ecosystems. Now if that’s not an excuse to shop… Buy them at Astley Clarke and Liberty.
