Getting dressed with Margaret Howell
The new Margaret Howell SS19 ad campaign has landed and it’s just as you’d expect. Beautifully shot by Jack Davison, it’s atmospheric, quietly observed and draws your eye to the finer details. The fabrics look reassuringly expensive, and the styling is simple but familiar. I love how the high contrast photography shows up the texture in the weaves and knits. The sheen on that coat!
There are some shockingly try-hard ad campaigns out there from brands that really need to learn the art of nuance. Needless to say, this isn’t one of them…
