Breakfast at Liberty with Paperless Post
As much as we’re all considered digital denizens these days, there are still some areas where we like to mix in a tactile experience. For me that’s writing and correspondence; I just love writing with a pen and paper. And that’s something that U.S. stationery brand Paperless Post has also found with the evolution of its online business.
You may know Paperless Post already. It started in 2009 with the novel concept of sending digital stationery, essentially e-cards, in the style of a beautifully designed letter or invitation. As the brand grew however, it was discovered that as much as its users got the eco and time-saving credentials of Paperless Post, they still sometimes wanted paper. So they now do a mix of digital stationery that can be custom designed or bought ‘off the peg’ as it were, and also offer the same exclusive designs on luxuriously printed paper products.
Until now, the paper products were only offered in the U.S, but a new UK expansion changes all that. In a collaboration with Liberty, it has just unveiled 100 Liberty print designs that can be found on Paperless Post products including invitations, greeting cards and wedding stationery. There’s a huge variety of different styles of Liberty print, from classically pretty (such as Phoebe) to pared back and ‘masculine’ (I like Lodden).
At the launch breakfast on Tuesday in Liberty’s specially decorated Heritage Suite, I met the founders James and Alexa Hirschfeld who explained the appeal as one in which sometimes the occasion merits something a bit more formal than a digital invitation, while other times people simply want a physical memento of an occasion or event. Whether you’re a pen and paper girl, or a tech-obsessed convenience freak, the Liberty for Paperless Post collaboration is beautifully realised and certainly worth a browse.
The collection is now available at Paperless Post where you can see the full scope of prints and designs. (Note, items are shipped from the U.S.)
