Old Burberry
Having an #oldburberry moment and thinking about the signature check in a classic old money outdoorsy context.
Kinda nailed by this old school photo of The Queen at Windsor Great Park in 1985 by Tim Graham. This was in the days when Burberry was more of a traditional British brand rather than a luxury brand. Still quietly well regarded, but not ‘fashion’ and definitely not ‘hype’.
The Queen routinely teamed her Burbs with Hermès headscarves and no-nonsense shoes. According to Robin Muir’s feature in Vogue, when asked as a child what she would like one day to be, she confided: “A lady living in the country with a lot of horses and dogs.”

Loved Burberry when it was a “heritage” brand, rather than a much duped, luxury brand. I feel like they’re finding their way back???
