London Fashion Week: Brazil Rising at The Shop At Bluebird
Alongside the official London Fashion Week show schedule, there were all manner of extra curricular activities going on. My week kicked off with a breakfast at The Shop At Bluebird to launch Brazil Rising, a pop-up shop curated by Alice Ferraz. Alice is the owner of F*hits, Brazil’s super-blogger platform, but she’s something of a dynamo herself. A kind of Brazilian Karla Otto with a bit of Natalie Massenet and Yasmin Sewell thrown in, the self-proclaimed ‘fashion connector’ chose a selection of home-grown designers and brands to be part of this pop-up to promote Brazilian fashion to the Brits.
As well as Osklen, one of Brazil’s most famous brands, I was impressed with Martha Medeiros’ handmade lace dresses, the labour-intensive leatherwork by Patricia Viera (who it transpires is part of the Dellal clan) and Andrea Marques’ polished pattern-mixing.
Of course, the F*hits bloggers were also there, who wasted no time in telling me about the latest F*hits project; blogger nail polish. Each blogger picked her own colour and has it named after her blog – who wouldn’t love a self-named nail polish?
F*Hits bloggers and F*Hits nail polish!
Brazil Rising is at The Shop At Bluebird until 28th September 2012.
