On Opening Ceremony’s London pop-up and Covent Garden’s new fashionable status




Shopping in Covent Garden this weekend? Of course you are! (And if not why not?) The one-time tacky tourist trap is becoming something of a fashion and foodie mecca with Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Meat Market and Laduree all setting up shop in the last year or so. Joanna Sykes joins Nicole Farhi as creative director




I’ve just been reading all the AW12 catwalk round-ups in Elle, Grazia and Vogue. Futuristic silhouettes, seductive goth and baroque over-embellishment feature heavily but they don’t excite me on a personal level. I’m more likely to get fired up over a macho coat or the perfect cigarette trouser so today’s breaking news about Joanna Sykes’ appointment at Nicole Farhi is a biggie for me. (more…)



New menswear discovery: Laurence Airline




I came across Laurence Airline at the MAN trade show in Paris (not to be confused with the MAN shows in London). Designer Laurence Chauvin Buthaud’s African textile pieces, made by locals from the Ivory Coast, caught my eye for their vibrancy and unisex appeal.
