It’s coming: Louise Gray for Topshop (p.s. it includes make-up)

Now this is exciting. Topshop just announced its collaboration with Louise Gray, coming in August. I see colour, I see print, I see bonkers fabric mixing and I’m hoping for an explosion of accessories. Although Louise Gray can do toned down too – remember the lush blues and reds of her Brora collab? (more…)

First look at Aerin Lauder’s new make-up line

I mentioned Aerin Lauder’s new own-name brand last week. This week, I came across the first picture of the make-up line. I’m seeing shades of Estee Lauder (unsurprisingly), YSL and Tom Ford in the angular gold packaging, which to be honest is alright by me; I make no secret of the fact that I buy beauty prods as much for the packaging as the goodies therein. Not sure how much the world needs another line of luxe neutrals but then, this is all about branding. Get that right and you can sell anything you want. What’s interesting is that Aerin (as the brand is known) has soft-launched itself on Twitter and Tumblr first, selling the Aerin dream life and aesthetic before there’s any hint of product. Even if you weren’t an Estee Lauder girl, and you don’t need another latte-coloured lipstick, there’s no denying there’s something extremely appealing about the Aerin ‘ski lodge in Aspen’ Lauder lifestyle. On that basis alone, I’m sold.

Beauty snippets: CK One Colour, Chanel, Aerin…

Gorgeous pop packaging for the CK One Colour cosmetics line. Bip Ling showed me a couple of these products at the Louboutin party a couple of weeks ago (she’s a CK One ‘insider’) and I liked the chunky design and naive color blocking…

Beauty buy: Space NK Beautannia Brighton bath oil

I spent this evening luxuriating in Space NK‘s new Beautannia Brighton bath oil, mainly to warm up my bones after seven days and seven nights of relentless April rain. I usually like deep relaxation bath oils  – Liberty, Jo Malone and Aromatherapy Associates are my go-tos – but Brighton is fresher and perkier, and a little bit masculine. It’s based on a blend of sea moss, orris and grapefruit but I like it because it comes in a generous 245ml glass blottle (£42) and the scent infused the entire flat, making me feel like spring might finally be within grasp.
