Gentlewoman style beauty: Stella Tennant in HTSI
As much as I loved loads of Stella Tennant’s ‘punk’ looks in the 90s (flashback to all the Corinne Day and Melanie Ward goodness in Donna and Vogue Italia), I’m really enjoying her grown up ‘gentlewoman style’ modelling too.
This How to Spend It shoot is a recent example. Shot by Tom Craig and styled by Bay Garnett, the fabulous Florrie White did an excellent job with her make-up (I’ve actually asked for a beauty breakdown from Florrie, so I’ll post it here when it comes). I love the gently bronzed skin tone and garnet mani. And the hair, by Alain Pichon, is on point as always, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen Stella with bad hair.
The modernist location of Erno Goldfinger’s 2 Willow Road (I’ve still not been!) is a fantastic backdrop to the classicist Holland & Holland outfits – for which Stella Tennant and Isabella Cawdor are creative directors. The wide leg ivory wool trousers are the standouts with their generous pleats; alas, with my Iack of height, there’s no way I could get away with them. The make-up, I think I could do though!

All so gorgeous, but I do fear one would have to be very tall and lanky to wear these, which I am not. Stella looks fantastic, better with age.

Yes agree, the knits I could do, the trousers, no way!
